Spiritual services in Punjab zone was started in1952 when Dadi Janki ji was invited in Vedanta sammelen at Amritsar. Dadi Janki ji and other senior sisters keep on giving spiritual discourses in and around holy city in make shift arrangements as no permanent centre was there .It was followed by Sri Hargobindpur and Batala.The strong foundation and powerful seed of spiritual services gave birth to many jewels like Achal behn-Now Zonal chief of Punjab, Raj behn-now Director of Rajyoga centers in Nepal and many others. Amritsar was followed by Ambala, Patiala and Saharanpur where senior Dadis became instrument in establishing branches.Another branch was opened at Karnal (now in Haryana) in 1956. Spiritual services started in Chandigarh in 1960.Senior brothers like Atam Parkash (Gyan Amrit press), Om Parkash Bhai (Indore), Brij Mohan Anand (Delhi) etc. from Patiala center became instrumental in starting spiritual services in Chandigarh. Godly message was spread to Hill state of Uttrakhand (earlier North Uttar Pardesh) in 1965-66 with opening of branches at Dehradun followed by Haridwar in1970-71. Earlier programmes were organized at MahaKumbh fair in 1962. Spiritual services started in Kashmir valley in1966 with opening of branches at Jammu and Srinagar followed by another branch at Akhnoor and Samba etc. Hill state of Himachal Pardesh which came into existence in 1966 was blessed with spiritual showers in 1967 when first centre was opened at Mandi followed by Kullu, Joginder Nagar and Palampur. Few Centres in Punjab Zone which were opened in early days and has became instrumental for spiritual services in other areas and opening of branches became circles like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ambala Patiala, Ludhiana, Jind and Hisar etc. In 1975-76 Zones were constituted to administer the services and Punjab Zone was created with states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pardesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Parts of Uttar Pardesh and Uttrakhand with its Zonal headquarters at Chandigarh and Dadi ChandarMani as Its Zonal Incharge. Star from the early days various programmes like Prahbaht pheris, spiritual exhibitions, world Renewal fairs, inter faith conferences etc. were organized in parts of North India to spread the Godly message.Notworthy among them are a big conference at Jalandhar in1966 on Gita Ka Bhagwan .This was later on followed by various programmes at Amritsar, Ludhiana and Ambala.First big event in Punjab was world Renewal Spiritual Conference in September 1970. Year1971-72 was marked with district level programmes for all districts which continued for months. New World spiritual fair was organized in Oct-Nov 1975 at Jalandhar followed by Chandigarh in March 1977. In 1979 three spiritual fairs were organized in Chandigarh and its surroundings which became instrumental in opening of Mohali Centre. In January 1985, the North zone headquarters which was running in rented accommodation till then was shifted to its own campus at Rajyoga Bhawan in sector-33A. When Bharat Ekta Yuva padyatra was organized by Youth wing throughout the nation, Punjab Zone became opening venue of Four padyatras (1) Dharamshala to Delhi (2)Amritsar to Delhi (3) Badrinath to Delhi and (4)Dabwali to Delhi. World transformation conference was organized in1989 at Tagore theatre Chandigarh. Chandigarh became instrumental for starting of holistic health fairs in1993-94 when two health fairs were organized at Chandigarh followed by eight another health fairs in Himachal Pardesh and Punjab. Since then many such fairs has been organized in various parts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pardesh etc. to spread health benefit to people of the region. Punjab zone has been venue of various campaigns and programmes organized by Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya like Health awareness campaign, Environment awareness campaign, Moral awakening campaign in 1989, All India Youth cycle rallies from Vaishno Devi, Chintpurni and Hussaniwala in 1993. Women empowerment campaign in 1999, Youth festival at Bhatinda in 2001 and at Chandigarh in 2004, Peace Festival at Amritsar in 2003,at Panipat in Feb.2005 and in Chandigarh in November 2005.Special programmes were organized at Kumbh melas at Haridwar in 1974,1986 and 1998. As per latest available data there are about 30,000 regular BrahmaKumaris and Brahma Kumars in Punjab Zone and about 210 centres and sub centres.BK Achal Didi is Zonal Chief and BK Amir Chand ji is Zonal Coordinator of Punjab Zone.
